# What is a Bomb in Grand?
A Bomb in Grand is a powerful hand consisting of 4 or more cards of the same rank. This includes 4-card, 5-card, 6-card, 7-card, 8-card, and even 10-card bombs, depending on the use of wild cards. The larger the bomb, the stronger the hand. A Bomb beats all non-bomb hands and can be played at any time during the game, even after passing.
When playing a Bomb, the player must have the required number of cards of the same rank. For example, a 4-card bomb could be 4♠-4♥-4♦-4♣, while an 8-card bomb could be 8♠-8♥-8♦-8♣-9♠-9♥-9♦-9♣. With the use of 2 wild cards, a player can create a maximum 10-card bomb.
1. Save Bombs for the Right Moment: Bombs are powerful, so use them strategically to maximize their impact.
2. Play Bombs Early: If you have a strong bomb, play it early in the game to prevent opponents from building their own bombs.
3. Watch for Opponent's Bombs: Be aware of when opponents play bombs and be prepared to counter with your own if possible.
1. Using Bombs Too Early: Playing a bomb too early can leave you vulnerable to counters from opponents.
2. Ignoring Opponent's Bombs: Not paying attention to when opponents play bombs can leave you unprepared.
3. Overusing Bombs: Using bombs too frequently can weaken your hand and reduce your chances of winning.
1. Three with Pair: A hand with 3 of one rank and 1 pair of a different rank, which can be used in conjunction with bombs.
2. Straight Flush: A sequence of cards of the same suit, which is also a strong hand in Grand.
3. Consecutive Pairs: A hand with 2 or 3 pairs in a row, which can be part of a larger combination with bombs.
